Seasonal (SEAS) position

Barnstable Recreation is looking for a person with strong organizational skills, great leadership qualities and people skills to assist in the running of a 7-week Summer Leisure Program which runs July 1- August 16, 2024. Staff hours are Monday - Friday , 7:30 AM -4:45 PM. Candidate must be able to attend all Orientations (some weekends) and must be available for pre-season work during the month of June. Parent Orientation: June 15 Staff Orientation: June25-28.

Job Description:

Performs routine and complex administrative work in planning, organizing, coordinating and administering a Summer Day program for children ages 5-13. Assists in supervising Leisure Program sites and staff. Assists the Program Coordinator in all matters concerning the Leisure Program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be attending College or a College Graduate. 4 years of summer program experience or working with children in a different setting. First Aid and CPR Certified. Valid Driver’s License. Must pass CORI & SORI check.

Additional Qualifications:

Considerable knowledge of summer program planning and administration. Ability to develop, coordinate, and direct varied activities involved in a summer program; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, vendors, contractors, participants, and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Good character, integrity, and adaptability. Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control.

$18.25 hourly, no benefits.
