Job Description:

Performs a range of manual, semi-skilled and skilled work in the maintenance and repair of a broad range of vehicles, heavy trucks, heavy equipment, and Town infrastructure (including generators, a draw bridge, and traffic lights). Assists more senior mechanics in inspection, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on a broad range of vehicles, heavy trucks, heavy equipment, and Town infrastructure (including generators, a draw bridge, and traffic lights), all other related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma with courses and training in mechanic and automotive repair work, or technical school graduate; three years of experience in maintenance and repair of varied equipment used in public works operations; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Massachusetts CDL Class A drivers license with air brake and tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain within 18 months of hiring.

Massachusetts Hydraulic Hoisting Licenses 1C, 2A or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hiring.

Additional Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of the tools, equipment and procedures used in motor equipment and other mechanical infrastructure repair, maintenance and adjustment. Ability to perform strenuous duties under unpleasant conditions. Ability to take direction and carry out tasks independently.

$2,462.47 bi-weekly, plus benefits:
