Seasonal (SEAS) Position
Join our team at Bismore Park and help create a safe, welcoming, and well-managed environment for residents and visitors. As a Parking & Information Attendant, you’ll serve as both a friendly ambassador and a key enforcer of parking regulations in one of the busiest areas of town. This is a seasonal, uniformed position. The position pays $20.50 per hour, with hours ranging from 24–40 per week. Applicants must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Position Overview
Parking & Information Attendants provide information about Barnstable and Cape Cod, offer customer assistance, monitor parking activity, issue parking violations, ensure the proper operation of parking kiosks and pay systems, and help maintain the cleanliness of the park and Welcome Center. This role requires professionalism, situational awareness, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist visitors with information about Bismore Park, parking options, and local resources.
Monitor parking areas for compliance and issue parking tickets when violations occur.
Ensure kiosk machines and mPay2Park apps are functioning, reporting, or troubleshooting issues.
Assist guests with electronic payments.
Observe and manage activity in the area, including improperly parked vehicles, bus and tour vehicle placement, delivery truck movement, and rideshare or taxi staging and payment.
Serve as the “Eyes and Ears” of the park by reporting safety concerns or unusual activity.
Work closely with teammates and maintain consistent communication.
Maintain the cleanliness of Bismore Park and the Welcome Center, including general area upkeep.
Follow Town policies and promote a positive, safe environment.
Requirements
Strong customer-service skills and a friendly, professional attitude.
Ability to issue parking citations confidently and accurately.
Comfortable using smartphones and apps, including Sling and mPay2Park.
Ability to stand or walk outdoors for most of the shift in variable weather conditions.
Reliability, punctuality, and effective communication skills.
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
Full availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Tools & Training
Training in parking enforcement procedures.
Support with kiosk machine and app usage.
Use of the Sling App for scheduling and communication.
On-site team support and guidance.
